Purpose :

The Plant PCT Engineer is responsible for all electrical and instrumentation matters regarding plant operability, maintenance / reliability, investments, technology improvements, and technical compliance / integrity.

Scope (global, regional or local) : Local

Key Tasks :

Assures that PCT (Process Control Technology) / MST (Micro System Technology) performance supports plant performance goals related to Capacity, Operability / availability, economy, compliance, quality, safety, and environment

Has responsibility (technical, budget, timelines, compliance) for the planning and execution of PCT / MST maintenance and investment projects in the Plant.

Has up-to-date knowledge about relevant internal and external regulations; Assures compliance with local technical and legal rules and with Company policies in the field of PCT / MST

Has up-to-date knowledge of Bayer Group- and subgroup best practices in the field of PCT / MST and implements them in the Plant.

Is responsible for creating preventive maintenance schedules; Reviews and adjusts them based on plant performance, equipment failure history and available best practices.

Has responsibility for identifying, evaluating, and developing PCT / MST modifications and improvements in the Plant

Is responsible to troubleshoot PCS / MST problems in the plant, modifies maintenance plans and triggers improvement projects to minimize PCS / MST failures

Is responsible for creating and maintaining Plant technical documentation

Key Working Relation :

External : o Third part Suppliers o Third Party Service providers. o Local Authority authorities (e.g. during inspections) Bayer,

Internal : o Plant Manager o All other BCH plant functions o Quality Head. o Procurement

Qualification & Competencies :

Bachelor or Master degree in ICA- (Instrumentation, Control, Automation) Engineering or related fields

Several years of experience in PCT / MST.

Thorough understanding of PCS concepts / practices and good understanding of maintenance and project management

Good knowledge of Engineering tools and software - SAP, MMS

Experience in equipment qualification QI / QO / QP

Experience in Data Integrity and Computerized System Validation (CSV)

Good communications Skills : Fluent English, French and Arabic

Teamwork spirit
