DanTrade company started its operational activities as of June 2013. It is the Sourcing company of Danone Group, in charge of performing all Raw Material, Packaging, Services and Logistics negotiations with global and regional suppliers.
DanTrade encompasses about 150 people for Sourcing and Suppliers Development, CRM, Finance and Quality functions
Created in 2009, the Ecosystem Fund is intended to strengthen and develop the activities of partners who make up Danone’s ecosystem : farmers, suppliers and subcontractors, transport and logistics operators, distributors, territories & local authorities.
The Fund can intervene in cooperation with partners (NGOs / suppliers / distributors / micro-credit organizations / advisory bodies, etc ) leading economic & social development actives in the geographical areas concerned.
The Fund is managed under the endowment fund regime. It was financed by an initial donation of €100M in 2009, and, from 2010 till 2014, by 1% of the annual net profit of Danone
Danone Fruit 1st transformation team is in charge of sourcing Processed Fruits (frozen or aseptic, in pieces or in puree) needed from Danone affiliates worldwide to produce Fresh Dairy Products.
The team encompasses the following positions : Buyers, R&D and Quality at Central level as well as Regional level.
FREZNA PROJECT : Sustainable strawberry sourcing in Morocco
Context and Risks :
Strawberry is the number 1 fruit in volume and spend for Danone, and a substantial share of our needs are sourced in Morocco in Larache region.
The strawberry production entails several sustainability risks that could highly affect Danone business and our stakeholders’ :
The project will achieve the following goals :
SOCIAL : 100% farmers compliant with law and regulations in Morocco (employees registered, minimum salary paid, access to health insurance and number of work hours & vacation days respected, yearly medical check-up).
ENVIRONMENT : Develop and promote sustainable agriculture practices, focusing on soil health, water management and pesticides use.
Develop waste management practices and find a viable solution to recycle plastic waste.
ECONOMIC : Identify and implement levers of optimization on the farm, such as : yield improvement, retention of pickers for a reduced turnover of their workforce.
Develop long term agreements with farmers to support their investment in sustainability
The Sustainable Strawberries Project Manager will contribute to the implementation of Danone sustainability strategy for our Processed Fruit sourcing.
Key accountabilities :

All these activities need to be co-led with the NGO project manager. Managing the relationship with the Partner NGO is a key responsibility.
