    The Area Sales Manager is responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle at the end user and distributor levels covering North African and French speaking countries in Africa.

    It includes identifying, managing and evaluating current and new distribution channels. This position will report to the Area Sales Manager, Africa.


  • Selling gas detection solutions through distribution and directly to customers in French speaking African countries
  • Identifying, managing, and evaluating current and new distribution channels
  • Position Industrial Scientific suite of products and iNet as a service (major focus)
  • Increase and self-generate new sales leads across both iNet and traditional sales
  • Reaching sales goals as set by management
  • Maximize profit
  • Develop customer base necessary to meet all sales forecasts and budgets
  • Maintain high level of product and vendor knowledge
  • Prospecting for new business, preparing / presenting proposals and maintaining existing relationships
  • Attend exhibitions
  • Continuously maintain company CRM
  • Attend sales meeting with updated reports
  • Complete relevant documentation for sales progress
  • Provide assistance to customers as and when needed
  • Train distributor partners
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Five or more years of full-time work experience
  • Five or more years of outside sales experience
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Experience working in MEA
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven sales track record
  • Results driven
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly ethical
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Frequent travel required
  • Experience working in O&G and mining market segments

  • Experience in selling SW and Services is a plus
  • Gas detection experience (sales, customer service, or technical support) is a plus
  • Speaking Arabic and / or any other language is a plus

    Must be able to use / wear applicable personal protective equipment which may include but is not limited to safety-toed foot wear (with ankle height support), back support belt, hearing protection, and safety eye-

    wear with side shields. Frequent assent / decent of stairs / steps.
