Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Environmental Health & Safety Teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with TE, environmental and government regulations.

You will support day-to-day EHS operations and process management & participation the internal process release.

Drives process safety and employee safety culture by frequent interaction with operations, technical services, and engineering services to encourage and support frequent messaging and prioritization of safety issues (pre acceptance & acceptance of new equipment, new processes, transfer machines etc).

Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions. Recommend appropriate risk measures , including ergonomics.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Participates in incident investigations as a facilitator, lead or team member and ensures appropriate follow up on area hazard / near miss / EHS concern / suggestions reporting.
  • Track area action items and assist the operating area with closure.

  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly EH&S metrics (TRIR, BBS, Leaders participation )
  • Maintain required safety operations procedures and internal safety procedures within the plant to comply with TE EH&S requirements
  • Identify and inform Area managers of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conducting safety Observations & Audits ( BBS, safety inspections, Safety Gemba walk, 5S+1)
  • Train and assist others (Area Managers, Safety Team Members, etc.) to complete their Safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, etc.).
  • Perform some specific Safety Training as required by the Safety program
  • May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities.
  • Provide local support for EHS programs such as LOTO, Machine guarding, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, SAFE implementation etc.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS management system processes.
  • Participate on the definition of the personal protective equipment ( PPE) and insure the implementation of the PPE management.
  • Environmental Compliance responsibilities :

  • Monitor, administer and oversee compliance requirements for local requirements & EH&S requirements
  • Environmental inspections / facility-assessments and maintaining compliance documents in EHS management systems.
  • Water quality compliance activities, including : industrial wastewater, storm water
  • Ensure employees receive environmental compliance training, maintain training records and facilitate training sessions.
  • Support and participate in release response reporting and spill response cleanup activities.
  • Participate the implementation of the Environmental management system.
  • Ensure the implementation of the hazardous material management system and maintain the internal safety datasheets in the shop floor.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of new or anticipated regulations or compliance interpretations
  • What your background should look like :

    Bac+ 5 E&HS Master degree

    Up to 2 years worth of experience within EH&S
