THE BANK

Established in 1964, the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is the premier pan-African development institution, promoting economic growth and social progress across the continent.

There are 81 member states, including 54 in Africa (Regional Member Countries). The Bank's development agenda delivers the financial and technical support for transformative projects that will significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

  • In order to sharply focus the objectives of the Ten Year Strategy (2013 2022) and ensure greater developmental impact, five major areas (High 5s), all of which will accelerate our delivery for Africa, have been identified for scaling up, namely;
  • energy, agribusiness, industrialisation, regional integration and improving the quality of life for the people of Africa.

    THE COMPLEX :

    The Vice-Presidency for Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery (RDVP) is responsible for the operational relevancy, efficiency and effectiveness of the Bank Group's operational programs and activities.

    The RDVP's mandate is to ensure that the Bank operates successfully across its Regional Member Countries and oversee the full implementation of all aspects of the Bank's regional directorates.

    THE HIRING DEPARTMENT / DIVISION

    The African Development Bank Country Office in Morocco (COMA) was established to strengthen the strategic dialogue between the Bank, the government and other stakeholders, improve the performance of the project portfolio and aid coordination with other development partners.

    THE POSITION :

    The Bank invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the position of Receptionist / Secretary (STS). This position is based in Rabat, Morocco and does not attract international terms and conditions.

    KEY FUNCTIONS

    Under the supervision of the Country Manager, the Secretary / Receptionist (STS) will be perform the following :

  • Provide secretarial services and general administrative support to the Morocco Country Office team.
  • Sort, distribute and collect mail from the different offices at regular intervals;
  • Dispatch outgoing mail in collaboration with the office drivers;
  • Pack items for dispatch, label and enclose documents and frank outgoing mail;
  • Handle incoming mail; Unpack packages of materials, equipment and documents delivered to the Country Office;
  • Receive visitors at the entrance of the Country Office;
  • Participate in the logistical organisation of meetings and workshops;
  • Participate in the inventory of the Office's equipment and supplies;
  • Provide support to technicians visiting the Country Office to carry out repairs and maintenance of equipment (lift, fire extinguishers, electricity, sanitary facilities, etc.);
  • Assist the secretaries and staff in the Country Office with filing and archiving documents;
  • Operate the photocopying and reproduction equipment and make photocopies;
  • Act as a substitute for the Secretary when necessary;
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the Office.
  • SELECTION CRITERIA

    skills, knowledge and experience) :

  • Hold a High School Diploma;
  • Proof of nationality or evidence of permanent resident status with a work permit in the country of employment;
  • Good interpersonal, communication and professional skills;
  • Have good communication skills in French or English and a working knowledge of the other language.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access). Familiarity with SAP is an asset;
  • THIS POSITION DOES NOT ATTRACT INTERNATIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. THE POST HOLDER WILL BE CONSIDERED A SHORT-TERM STAFF (LOCAL STAFF).
