TE Connectivity's Project Management Teams are responsible for managing the operational aspects of projects from inception through implementation.
They coordinate cross-functional teams and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project teams and line management.
Our Teams review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. They assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
They also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Main Target :
The Project Manager Supply Chain Design & New Product Development is assigned team member in New Product Development (NPD) teams as part of TE’s LEANPD (Lean product development) Process.
Major targets are to apply relevant SC Strategies, to ensure timely project input from all Supply Chain resources for their work packages and tasks and to support in standardization and facilitation concepts to ensure Supply Chain readiness at all stages of the projects and a smooth transition between the Engineering, Ramp-up and serialization phase.
Overall aim is to ensure robust Value streams meeting customer service level expectations, balancing total E2E costs & improving time to market (TTM).
Critical thereby is to understand the logic of all aspects of supply chain, from product development to the shipment of finished items and to apply these in NPD projects.
Participate actively as assigned Integrated Supply Chain Team member in selected NPD projects to support in defining SC work packages for SC Functions, to ensure timely execution with SC resources in charge and SC readiness, to perform SC risk assessment and to define respective mitigation measures if required
Ensure that E2E View is integrated in NPD project teams when reviewing changing customer requirements
Report on all deviations of SC work packages and tasks vs. expected timing and quality to the Teamlead Supply Chain Design and propose mitigating actions to the SC functions
Review overall project progress versus customer and SC requirements and highlight critical deviations
Highlight possible conflicts of NPD project decisions with SC strategies to mgt
Keep informed the local Supply Analysts and Supply Chain Planners on possible influences of projects on their individual Supply Chains and responsibilities
Review with NDP project teams on changes in the project decision base demand vs. supply, capacity constraints, flexibility corridors etc.
and propose mitigating actions aligned with Supply Chain functions
Deliver input for sourcing decisions based on cross plant component and material value streams & to Logistics in terms of Footprint needs taking into account customer service level and total E2E cost (e.
g. gaps in logistics and handling cost, risk mitigation, cost avoidance).
Supporting in cross-functional Value stream Mapping and assessment of alternatives & risks
Ensure smooth handover to ISC Product line Team
Develop concepts together with Teamlead Supply Chain Design for system set up, preserial planning of components and finished goods and ramp-up and coordinate these during LEANPD Process
Identify (recurring) issues and perform root-cause-analysis and initiate change management to resolve Supply Chain design weaknesses in LEANPD Process.
Communicate and coordinate as needed the implementation of action plans
