Main Duties and Responsibilities

To Manage the Public Relations office and execute / manage press and public relations activities that will support the Sales & Marketing department’s objectives and Hotel’s annual goals.

To develop and execute an annual Public Relations campaign and work within set budgets.

To advise the General Manager and Planning Committee on Public Relations strategies within Crisis Management situations and execute Public Relations actions as necessary.

To anticipate situations, and implications for the Hotel, that will call upon Public Relations Crisis Management techniques.

To alert the General Manager and Planning Committee to current affairs, external issues and other events that could present implications and / or opportunities for the Hotel and advise of suitable actions.

To protect the five-star image and superior reputation of the Hotel in all promotional activity.

To ensure that any promotion of the Hotel is consistent with the image and standing of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Press Relations

  • To monitor and acquaint him / herself with key media and the opportunities they offer to the Hotel.
  • To fully manage all aspects of Social Media (Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook etc).
  • To pursue and develop long-term relationships with local, regional and overseas press (especially North American and Continental European).
  • Maintain on-going liaison, support and follow-up with key press contacts of the Hotel.
  • Establish him / herself as a trusted and reliable contact for members of the press.
  • To promote facilities and services of the Hotel, newsworthy events, special promotions and create appropriate story-angles to maintain a continuous and consistent profile in the press.
  • To seek a variety of opportunities for press exposure in consumer, trade and other specialist media (e.g. competitions, readership offers / events, photo opportunities).
  • To co-ordinate details of all press visits to the Hotel. Co-ordinate organisational details within the Hotel for in-coming press visits and groups from overseas.
  • To track and assess results of press visits to the hotel and coverage achieved.
  • Maintain database of press contacts on Delphi (background information and traces).
  • To assess requests for third party photo ie Influencer shoots and filming projects at the Hotel, alongside the Hotel’s Public Relations / Sales and Marketing goals.
  • Oversee any such shoots and filming, once agreed.
  • To act as a Hotel spokesperson as necessary. Equally, volunteer the General Manager and appropriate Heads of Department as Hotel spokespersons, having previously briefed them on the media opportunity at hand and the approach they should take.
  • To monitor, catalogue and distribute press cuttings on Hotel to Planning Committee and Corporate Public Relations.
  • Public Relations

  • To research and develop invitation lists for monthly or quarterly lunches as determined by DOSM. Pursue topical personalities, diary writers and third party contacts likely to be beneficial to the Hotel.
  • To develop ideas for events, promotions and special offers that will attract key audiences into the Hotel and provide the press with topical story angles.
  • Similarly, pursue opportunities for joint-promotions and events.

  • To research and pursue involvement in events and initiatives taking place in Marrakech and Morocco in which the Hotel can participate or be linked so as to provide a platform that will present the Hotel as a community player and project the Hotel’s image appropriately.
  • Working relationships :

  • To work closely with Department Heads, co-ordinating Press and Public Relations activities alongside operational implications.
  • Where Public Relations can support and promote departmental goals, develop suitable Public Relations ideas and actions.

  • Keep other departments informed with relevant background and feedback on Press and Public Relations activities.
  • To maintain and develop the relationships established with Public Relations representatives in the city and integrate in Public Relations activities where appropriate.
  • To seek to establish relationships with Public Relations departments within other restaurants opening up in Marrakech to integrate Public Relations activities where appropriate.
  • To pursue relationships with other local Public Relations representatives and appropriate third parties (that also target the same audience profiles as the Hotel’s), to develop ideas for joint-promotional activities that will benefit the Hotel.
  • To maintain regular contact with the Public Relations Manager / Director at other Four Seasons Hotel in the region to avoid inconsistencies / duplication in the Public Relations effort and to maximise coverage of the hotel To liaise with Corporate Public Relations, external Public Relations consultants and other on-property Public Relations Directors / Managers to exchange information, ideas and media lead.
  • Promotional collateral :

  • To work closely with Sales & Marketing and Corporate representatives, in development and production of brochures, fliers, newsletters and all other promotional collateral.
  • Create promotional materials ie flyers for in house events (ie Valentiens Day, Mother’s Day Brunch, Spa and F&B promotions etc).
  • To monitor high quality and consistent use of Hotel language and descriptive text in written material.
  • To ensure that standards set in the Corporate Design Manual are met. To supervise and co-ordinate photo shoots and filming projects commissioned by the Hotel / Four Seasons.
  • To manage Hotel’s photographic library; prints, slides, transparencies and CD-format.
  • To be up-to-date on printing and electronic techniques that needs to be employed for production and distribution of quality promotional collateral.
  • Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

  • Luxury Hotel Experience Preferred as an Public Relations Manager.
  • Good Attitude.
  • High level of communication in French and English.
