Position Summary

Reporting to the Commercial Director of Pernod Ricard Maroc, the Trade Marketing Manager works as part of an activity that is leader in the Premium wine & spirits industry in Morocco, thanks to international and famous brands : Chivas Regal, Absolut, Ballantine’s, Ricard, Mumm, Perrier Jouët, Beefeater S / he coordinates sales and marketing activities, manages budgets while optimizing expenditures and is responsible for different sales analyses.

B Key duties and Responsibilities

1 / Co-responsible for the definition of the strategies per distribution channel

  • Understand the dynamics of networks, the evolution and the needs of different channel types
  • Interpret each brand’s goals on actions / specific promotions per network
  • Define priorities of each brand per channel and types of point of sale and allocate the corresponding Trade budget
  • 2 / Responsible for the activation in the Off-Trade network

  • Establish targets and priorities in terms of visibility (storage space, special displays)
  • Help the Off-Trade sales team to negotiate better visibility with clients
  • Develop guidelines and needed supports to help the sales team in the achievement of their objectives
  • Carry out MOT and TOT visits in the country to evaluate partners and the Off-Trade sales team’s performance
  • Pre and post evaluate all operations while making sure the return on investment is in line with forecasts
  • 3 / Responsible for the activation of the brands and the leadership in the On-Trade network

  • Ensure leadership on the On-Trade network in terms of presence and of visibility
  • Coordinate with the Marketing teams to support the brands’ plans in the promotions / specific activations (adapted to each different types of clients)
  • Contribute to brand building and to the activation on Key Account points of sale
  • Supervise the execution of the promotions
  • Pre and post evaluate all operations while making sure the return on investment is in line with forecasts
  • 4 / Management and Financial Profitability

  • Manage an A&P / SPD Trade budget whilst following and controlling expenditures
  • Contribute to the implementation of specific prices for each network
  • Collaborate closely with the departments of finance, purchasing and logistics to secure deliveries of materials and items to the best price
  • Evaluate the quality of service of each supplier and try to improve it
  • 5 / Management of the monthly POS

  • Annually plan the needs working closely with the marketing teams
  • Centralize and manage the outgoing of POS working closely with the warehouse
  • Implement work processes with sales teams
  • 6 / Analyses and forecasts

  • Analyze the sell in / sell out and make recommendations to the Sales Director
  • Adjust forecasts with each network responsible and, on the basis of the sell out analysis and the stocks available on the market, and monthly consolidate estimated sales
  • Ensure a continuous monitoring of results vs goals
  • Coordinate forecast meetings
  • Monitor stock shortages in coordination with logistics and information coming from the sales team
  • Ensure the follow up of KPIs per sales manager and per region
  • 7 / Reporting and communication towards the sales force

  • Ensure a monthly qualitative report on the brands activities in Morocco and develop simple tools to evaluate the efficiency of action plans
  • Ensure the report of the activity at a national level and present performances during sales meetings
  • Communicate in a reliable manner on tariff schedules
  • Regularly share upcoming promotional plans to the sales team
  • Communicate on all the analysis and results concerning sales

  • Ensure competitive intelligence to feed the firm strategy
  • Analyze competitive activities on a regular basis
  • Consolidate detailed information from the sales team in collaboration with the Field Manager

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree (Business School, marketing, economy, management )
  • Fluent in Arabic, French and English
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in Trade Marketing, Marketing, or Sales, preferably in the FMCG industry and ideally within an international firm
  • Result oriented and taste for challenge
  • Capacity to deal with several projects at the same time and stress tolerance
  • Sense of urgency and priorities, proactivity and rigor
  • Based in Casablanca. Travels in main Moroccan cities, Paris Headquarters and brand owners
