  • We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Machine Operator to join our growing Civil Construction team in the Gippsland region.

    This is a full time, permanent position, based in Sale, Victoria.

    About us :

    Laser Plumbing Sale has an established history of plumbing and civil earth works within the Gippsland Region for over 40 years.

    We are experiencing continued growth and are currently looking for a Machine Operator to join our team.

    About the Role :

    This position is required to operate Company plant, machinery and equipment, as well as undertake manual labouring tasks as required in the completion of Company projects, operations and planned work.

    The key responsibilities for this role are :

  • Work independently or as part of a team to deliver civil work and projects in a timely manner, considering Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and cost efficient processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers to meet customer expectations
  • Perform any and all manual tasks to meet the scope of works. Tasks may include, but are not limited to; pipe laying, setting levels, building pits, shovelling, labouring, concreting, painting etc.
  • Operate any and all Company vehicles, trucks, machinery, plant and equipment within your skill level and license qualifications.
  • Read and interpret technical documents including plans and drawings.
  • Work effectively within a team environment and contribute to team outcomes.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and on the job training to other team members as required.
  • About you :

    To be successful in this role ideally you will have :

  • Qualifications in operating plant and machinery.
  • Directional drilling experience preferred
  • VESI passport training is highly desirable
  • Experience operating multiple items of plant, machinery and equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the civil / construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills the ability to effectively listen and convey information to varying audiences (customers, co-workers, managers etc).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Accountability to meet project objectives and constraints (get the job done), considering Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and cost-efficient processes to meet Company requirements.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach in delivering work arounds and problem-solving solutions on the job.
  • A positive and proactive can do’ attitude.
  • A learning
  • Flexibility regarding working outside normal working hours, as is required from time to time.
  • The ability to get involved, whilst also contributing to a dynamic team environment.

    Sale is Victoria’s third largest municipality and extends from the High Country through the Gippsland Plains to the internationally significant Gippsland Lakes and the famous Ninety Mile Beach.

    Sale is 2 ½ hours’ drive east of Melbourne and is linked to Sydney and Melbourne by the Princes Highway.
