Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead responsible for maintaining the elements of the Safety and Environmental Management System framework in CU WAM countries (West Africa and Morocco) countries, act as the overall point for any EHS related matters in those countries and supporting the leadership and management team in the CU in driving a positive culture of health, safety and well-being.
Role is flexible to be based in Morocco or any country in West Africa.
You will be responsible for
Maintaining the core elements of Ericsson Safety and Environmental Management System framework and requirements to support the delivery of corporate and customer requirements by Ericsson
Acting as a subject matter expert in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards in the CU, including occupational health and well-being
Ensuring that CU EHS committees are in place, effective and value adding
Ensuring systems are in place to monitor EHS legal compliance across the CU. Translating legislation to business activities
Consulting on evaluation and response to RFPs / RFQs,
Engaging with customers and government authorities / officials as POC for EHS matters
Consulting on customer evaluations and assessments
Consulting operations on EHS project planning, execution and governance by providing expert advice and support on EHS arrangements
Following-up and monitoring project EHS performance in the CU and identifying improvement actions
Being the lead advisor on any incident investigation, including conducting effective and pertinent investigation analysis, reporting on incident as per Ericsson standards, proposing and following up on determined corrective and preventive actions.
Managing incident reporting, analysis, and actions in the CU
Consulting and monitoring emergency preparedness and response management
Preparing, executing, and monitoring yearly EHS plans and programs in the CU
Consulting on employee occupational health issues including pandemic diseases and environmental factors.
Engaging in work environment arrangements
Acting as the EHS SPOC with the EGMS team regarding EGMS internal and external audits in the CU
Driving all EHS communication and awareness efforts in the CU.
To be successful in the role you are
Education : a degree in a related engineering discipline. A recognized formal OHS / Environmental Management qualification e.
g. degree or diploma in Environmental Management, Health and Safety Management, Occupational Health, or NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or other recognized and relevant certification
Minimum 10 years of demonstrated work experience in EHS management systems in regional positions, including understanding of compliance requirements, monitoring guidelines, and standards e.
g. ISO9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferably in a telecom environment or construction industry
Experience in evaluating and monitoring subcontractors EHS practices.
Experience in occupational health and well-being frameworks would be a plus
Experience in organizing & delivering HSE trainings internally and to subcontractors
Experience in leading a team and / or advising on EHS activities to senior personnel (i.e. C-Level)
Experience in conducting formal incident investigations
Recognized auditing qualification and experience (preferable)
Six Sigma Green / Black belt (preferable)
Project management qualification and experience (preferable)
Must able to travel domestically and internationally as needed especially to countries in West Africa (10%)
You should also have
Multilingual person with excellent command of spoken and written French and English is a must.
Ability to write technical documents to an excellent standard and prepare method statements as required.
Possess excellent communication, persuading, and influencing skills
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Must be proficient in usage of computers, with knowledge in standard office programs (such as Microsoft Office).
