Tasks will include :

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from initiation to completion. This includes design, tendering, supervision, hand-
  • over and project closure

  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverable's and estimate costs
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses as and when required
  • Coordinate construction activities to meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review the work progress on a regular basis and prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and health and safety regulations
  • Secure quality assurance and control processes. Ensure quality construction
  • standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Identify, monitor and control risks within the scope, manage dependencies and interfaces within the project and between the project and the line organizations
  • Maintain relations with internal and external parties involved in construction projects
  • Secure an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality
  • Qualification

  • Significant experience, 5-10 years of working in construction on managerial level
  • At least BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of construction (management) software packages
  • Integrity and the ability to establish strong work relationships
  • Good analytical skills and cost consciousness
  • Excellent (construction) project management, organizational and co-ordination skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent command of English and French, spoken and written at business level
  • Competent in problem solving, conflict and crisis management
