Topic description

The objective of this research internship is to address the former challenges to enable high capacity IoT networks with low energy consumption and highly secure communication.

For this, we aim to develop and demonstrate efficient algorithms for the maximization of the capacity of IoT networks. At the same time, we envision to alleviate the battery issue by developing intelligent methods for energy harvesting and power control.

We will also investigate the robustness capabilities of the IoT network to maintain high security levels against different kind of attacks and vulnerabilities.

Candidate's profile

  • For the PhD Candidate :
  • Highly qualified M.Sc. degree or Engineering degree in signal processing, communications, or applied mathematics.

    Strong mathematical, analytical and programming skills. Experience in MATLAB and / or Python.

    Excellent background in communication theory and signal processing.

    Good oral and written communication skills in English.

    Background in Machine Learning or previous experience is highly recommended.

    The PhD thesis is organized in four years as follows :

    A first pre-doctoral year including multidisciplinary advanced courses and research training.

    After the success of the pre-doctoral year, the candidate starts a 3-years PhD thesis.

    The successful candidate will be employed by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) based at Benguerir (50 km north of Marrakech), Morocco.

    The net salary per month is 10.000 MAD (1000 USD), including health insurance.

  • For the Postdoc Position :
  • The candidate must hold (or about to complete) a PhD in the related fields. The candidate will take part in the EXAF-JFD Project is expected to have hands-on experience in fields related to wireless communications.

    The main duties are :

    Publish in high impact journals in the field.

    Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.

    Contribute to teaching or other training activities (if applicable)

    The successful candidate will be employed by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) based at Benguerir (50 km north of Marrakech), Morocco.

    The net salary per month is 2000 USD.
