Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the EU-UN Global Terrorism Threats Facility, within the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate Liaison Section of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), based in Rabat.
The Senior Programme Officer will report to the Chief of the CTED Liaison Section located in the Office of the Under-Secretary-General.
and (e) ensure that due priority is given to counter-terrorism across the United Nations System and that the important work on preventing violent extremism is firmly rooted in the Strategy.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field.
A first-level university degree in combination with two years of additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required.
Experience managing programmes related to counter-terrorism or prevention of violent extremism is required.
Experience with the knowledge of EU funding instruments is required.
Experience working with the EU is required.
Experience working in the field is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in Arabic is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
For the position advertised funding is provided through extra-budgetary sources. Appointment or assignment against this position is for an initial period of one year.
The appointment or assignment and renewal thereof are subject to the availability of the post or funds, budgetary approval or extension of the mandate.
