An exciting new postions has been created in Morocco within Lear as Customs & Vat Manager for all Moroccan sites.
The Customs & VAT Manager, will be the responsible for Customs & VAT for all the Moroccan entities in Rabat, Kenitra & Tangier.
The Customs & VAT Manager reports to the Customs and VAT Managers EMEA.
Your main responsibilities will be :
Support the local business and the Central Customs team with Trade, Customs and VAT queries
Manage communication with Customs and VAT authorities
Manage customs and VAT audits
Monitor compliance of existing simplifications and special procedures and support implementation of new ones when required (ex IPR)
Support communication with suppliers and customers to require / provide relevant information on origin documentation, customs and export control classification
Review and support preference calculations
Manage AEO applications and monitor requirements
Monitor customs brokers
Perform regular risk assessments of various locations
Ensure Standard Operational Procedures for customs processes exist for each location
Collaborate strongly with the Spanish Customs Manager to ensure compliance across common flows
Design and deliver focused training sessions on special customs topics
Support VAT process transfers to SSC
Monitor VAT compliance in Morocco and implement required processes
To be a success in this role you must have :
Customs Law , Business / Finance degree
5 years of relevant experience with customs, including good knowledge in preferential origin
Experience with VAT will be a plus
Excellent communication skills, both English and Spanish
