Policy Analyst

$66,557.72 - $75,884.38 annually

The Child Care Policy team is leading one of the biggest social policy initiatives in the BC Government : the development of an inclusive, quality, affordable, culturally safe child care system, accessible for all who want or need it.

As part of the child care policy team, you will have many opportunities to make meaningful contributions to social policy and be involved in transformative changes affecting every corner of the province.

Reporting to a manager in the Child Care Policy Branch and working alongside an accomplished team of policy professionals, the Policy Analyst will independently and collaboratively manage assigned policy development projects focused on the review, revision and / or development of ministry programs, policies, and legislation.

Qualifications for this role include :

Degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., social sciences, law, public administration, business administration, Early Childhood Education);

AND a minimum of 1 year of related work experience; OR

An equivalent combination of recent related experience and education may be considered. For example :

A certificate / diploma in a relevant area of study and 2 years of related work experience.

A degree in an unrelated area of study and 2 years of related work experience.

Recent related experience must include :

Minimum 1 year experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.

Minimum 1 year experience managing projects and / or project components.

Minimum 1 year experience providing advice and recommendations on policy or program issues.

Minimum 1 year experience developing and applying regulations / legislation and / or broad-scale policies.

Minimum 1 year experience analyzing and interpreting data for the purpose of problem solving, reporting or providing advice and recommendations.
