Job Description

The ESG Analyst is responsible for collecting Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) data and producing analysis on a given issuer portfolio, applying the rating framework according to quality standards and processes.

This role contributes to sector expertise development by sharing best practices and contributing to global initiatives within the industry.

In order to assess issuers’ ESG performance, the ESG Analyst performs the following functions :

  • Collect and analyse all relevant Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) information of companies that are part of different industry sectors
  • Establish relevant contacts with companies and their stakeholders to obtain additional ESG information
  • Analyse, rate, compare the ESG performance of companies
  • Identify and monitor key sectors challenges and trends
  • Produce high-quality reports on ESG performance of issuers, using our methodological framework
  • Contribute to ensuring the overall quality of the work conducted by the team
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our tools, processes and methodology for maintaining our quality standards and improving the efficiency of our activities
  • Monitor companies on an ongoing basis
  • Monitor ESG market debates and contribute to internal discussions
  • Occasionally support the development of Vigeo Eiris activities in South America (translations, design of communication materials, or local projects support)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and / or experience in related discipline (Sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), Sustainable Finance)
  • Have a strong interest in ESG, CSR, Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) and / or sustainable development. Previous work experience in a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent English Language skills (working language). Knowledge of other languages is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to work autonomously, under the supervision and support of a team
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Demonstrate time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate communication and writing skills ability to synthesise and report information in a clear and accurate way, respecting quality expectations
