about the role
This is a multi-dimensional role :
People management this position is at the head of a team of 15-20 engineers + automation specialists (this is a people manager role) that are responsible for activities having a critical impact on network availability and customer satisfaction
Mantain and improve a transversal way of working within OINIS organization to ensure proper design validation / feedback related to network topology, routing flows, network changes and failures impact
Identify and prioritize automation opportunities while promoting creativity, properly tested and maintained reusable code intended to deploy and configure network elements, features and services on backbone and shared infraestructure
Identify / detect internal or external customer communication gaps related to OINIS change management activity
Ensure NCCM team mantain knowledge and skills needed to coordinate and activate backbone IP / Voice / SDN changes
Organize vendor and internal training or workshops while maximizing allocated budget result
Encourage a knowledge sharing environment and facilitate mentorship of newcomers or junior NCCM members
Ensure that NCCM team always provides detailed and clear Network Change Guidelines intended to activate changes smoothly and preferably with automated steps, or worst case, combined with manual ones
Proactive audit of network configuration quality and own network levelling, compliance to security rules and ensure minimum level of security weaknesses on the network
Provide weekly report to NIA management on activity and performance
Promote and mentor automation and network related skills within team
Maintain a thorough understanding of the corporate tools, systems, and processes required to provide quality provisioning and Change Managemen
Technical - This person will be the managers of highly skilled / technical people
Financial -Supported by financial controllers, willl focus on network cost savings related to capacity, resources utilization and operational expenses during network design and change management activities.
Essential skills and knowledge :
Ability to drive / organize projects with advanced skills or technology challenges
Abiility to test and troubleshoot network platforms, network circuits
Ability to ability to work in a virtual team environment
Ability to identify problems and work to resolution as required
Ability to self teach and adapt to technology evolution and changes
Ability to engage / partner with internal staff as required and sometimes with customers
Ability to manage managers and to delegate effectively
