TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short / long-term planning for the groups they manage.
They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping / receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.
Main Target :
to provide best operational practices and processes enabling continuous improvement and thus profitable operations
to lead and support process and concept development projects to secure sustainable future improvement opportunities
to define and implement future state of Assembly & molding process / roadmap interfacing to other assembly - molding teams outside AUT EMEA
Manufacturing Strategy :
Defines EMEA manufacturing location in the area of responsibility (Manufacturing Source Matrix)
Supports the Manufacturing Management in terms of Budgeting, CAPEX Planning, allocation of Equipment as well as the resulting Roll-out and Execution Activities
Develops and rolls out Strategies, Footprint Optimisations and Roadmaps
Manufacturing location readiness :
Ensures availability of right manufacturing competences for new products, processes and locations (Identifies gaps, drives gaps closure and manages know-how transfer)
Drives competence build and supports building up of required competences in supporting departments
Continuous Improvement :
Define and implement agreed break through initiatives which are supporting Plant Productivity for Material and Conversion Cost savings
Stay up to date of process and technology trends in- and outside of TE
drive cross functional development of conversion & material cost related concepts & processes
Rolls out Best Practices (SDP’s) and RTD Projects across AUT EMEA Locations
Performs EMEA-Meetings and Workshops regularly with all Department / VS Leaders to ensure Knowledge Share and Actuality
Support & Guidance in day-to-day activities :
Collects and provides all needed Basic Production Equipment Data e.g. Machinery and Equipment details (Specs, Condition, Aging information, etc.)
Supports production capacity balancing in our day-to-day work and develops processes & features with increased flexibility (Ramp-up, Ramp-down, End-of-life-management)
Monitors all Production Assets in terms of Availability, Condition, Replacement Needs and provides proposals for Replacements and Additions
Supports Localisation and Regionalization Programs
What your background should look like :
Master degree (mechanical engineering)
8+ years experience in various Engineering or Process Development assignments. Automotive industry preferred
5+ years experience in Automotive Assembly / Molding
2+years of management experience in a production environment
Key Requirements :
Strong background in technical concepts and Machines / Tools / Production
Base knowledge of Operational Excellence and Lean tools (Six Sigma degree is preferable)
Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player
Six sigma education and attitude ( GB or BB )
Innovative but realistic
Mobility and willingness to travel ( up to 60% from the time )
