The Job

This position is for a Content Copywriter within WU digital regional team, covering Middle East & Africa (MEA) Region. You will report to the Senior Product Delivery Manager for Middle East and Africa.

In this role, you will need to wear the hats of both a product and creative writer. You will be working with international Product and Marketing teams to produce content, with a focus on WU digital solutions delivery both new and existing mobile and web products.

At the moment, we are looking for a Copywriter to produce content for global marketing and advertising campaigns that span over a variety of media : print, web, TV, email, and social media for the Digital team.

Being part of the Digital team, based in Casablanca, you will be responsible for :

  • Producing high quality (succinct and compelling) copy for customer communications such as WU digital channels; emails, SMS, social posts, direct mailings, addressing the market;
  • Amending, revising or re-developing copy or content campaigns in response to the feedback from the clients and internal managers;
  • Producing content that will boost customer engagement and retention, as well as improve the promotion of Western Union’s channels in the most efficient way;
  • Working on a number of content projects within tight schedules;
  • Accepting constructive feedback while understanding the constraints of the business; making sure the content meets the high brand standards.
  • About You

    An ideal candidate for the copywriter’s position will possess the following characteristics :

  • A University degree in the English or French Language / Creative writing / Journalism or in other related fields
  • Extensive experience in writing good, clear copy in a variety of styles with accurate spelling and grammar of English and French
  • Experience in B2C copywriting (ideally in a finance space)
  • Understanding of UI / UX and user flows
  • Working knowledge of A / B testing
  • Experience with writing content marketing for digital products on mobile app / .com
  • High command of the English and French. Arabic will be a differentiator
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to understand the target audience
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Experience in creating corporate presentations through PowerPoint and Prezi would be an advantage
  • Examples of published copywriting works are obligatory, and must be presented together with the application.
