Position Description :

The Regional Trade Marketing (RTM) is reporting and working very closely with the Route-to-market &Trade Marketing Manager.

He will work in close collaboration with the Marketing and Sales functions so as to facilitate the smooth and successful translation of defined JTI strategies and objectives into effective trade marketing, merchandising plans and programs, within his respective region, whilst ensuring adherence to the Regulatory and Legislative environment of the local market.

  • The Regional Trade Marketing manages a key trade program which is the Trade Loyalty Program (TLP) and manages related partners in his dedicated region.
  • The (RTMA) is managing the Trade Marketing and activations teams within his region, ensuring the good execution of both TLP & Consumer activities, whilst ensuring the development of his team.
  • The (RTMA) manages the Consumers programs at Trade level, planning, implementation, deployment, execution, monitoring and analysis.
  • His role is to ensure that Trade programs, and Consumers activities as well as the KPIs agreed upon internally and with the distributor are being executed and met in quantity, quality and time.
  • He has to come up with action plans, and look for opportunities fitting the strategies and is also closely monitoring competition activities.
  • The RTMA will be based in Algiers and travels extensively by car within the region including rural areas, as his role is to cover a large and whole territory.
  • The RTMA may have to and need to be ready to reallocate from his base (Algiers) to another base within Algeria at any period of time decided by his manager.
  • Key responsabilities :

    1) - Manages the trade loyalty program (TLP) within his region to assess partners qualifications for the program, negotiates placement, assesses quantitative and qualtitative achievements.

  • Aligns & follows up on objectives & payment redemption.
  • Follows up with own team and Area Leads in objectives communication.
  • Manages, coaches & monitors closely a merchandising team on TLP extension, placements, upgrading and objectives communication;
  • Owns the merchandising team performances and development.
  • Works closely with Merchandising teams and key customers
  • 2)- Manages the Consumers activation and programs in traditional, rural and modern trade, in close coordination with marketing and sales teams, in order to planify, deploy and execute consumers programs .

  • On-going field consumers supervisors / promoters training and coaching
  • Organizes TLP partners, merchandising and activation teams meetings with the support of marketing whenever necessary.
  • Shares and follows up with marketing on development, production, timely delivery of needed material and incentives.
  • Performs Consumers programs and activations assessment and feedback through on-going analysis in order to contribute to timeliness and quality of decisions being made by management
  • 3)- RTMA will lead the Supervisors & Merchandisers within the center region.

  • RTMA will communicate info to merchandising team to be coordinated with distributor.
  • RTMA will support Merchandising team in programs and vice-versa.
  • 4)Gathers and disseminates accurate and timely market and intelligence information on JTI and competitors activities in order to contribute to timeliness and quality of decisions being made by management.

    5) Travels extensively & regularly around own region including rural areas; role being in major part to be present throughout the region to ensure maximized deployment and execution and to establish a close contact with retailers.

    Position is based in Algiers, yet Regional Trade Marketing is managing the center region

    6)Provides manager with daily / weekly updates in regard to Trade and market development / evolution as well as monthly Trade and market situation analysis reports.

    Profile :

    At least University degree or equivalent (Bac+4).

    4-6 years experience in trade marketing / Implementation of consumers and trade marketing plans in FMCG industry / sales & distribution / channel management

    Fluent French and Arabic. English is a plus. Windows office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) required.
