APM Terminals Medport Tangier is a greenfield project under construction, it will be the third container terminal of the Tanger Med complex APM Terminals Tangier handled 1.
7 million TEUs in 2015. APM Terminals Medport Tangier will be a facility with up to 2,000 meters of quay.

Prior Go-live (Project Phase)
Lead the review / update of SOPs / work instructions incorporating learning from various testing as where / applicable
Identify training / skills gaps in operations staff under scope. Provide on the job guidance / support where necessary applicable and work together with training to find alternative solutions
Actively participate / lead the various trial / testing operations alongside the other execution managers
Collaborate effectively with other functions in the project by providing operational requirements as needed and providing support / assistance in daily activities to ensure the overall project milestones are achieved
Provide one on one coaching to operations supervisors and other operations staff to ensure a sustained and fast learning curve
Post Go-live (Commercial Operations Phase)
Manage, motivate and instruct all operational team members, set priorities and structure tasks and goals.
Provide effective organisation and control of all terminal operations during designated shift period in order to meet planned objectives.
Coordinate terminal planning and operations to ensure effective ship working programmes are set and maintained to ensure vessels meet sailing or berthing deadlines.
Liaise with engineering department shift management to maximise equipment availability and effectiveness.
Is responsible for efficient allocation of all shift operational staff and the cost-effective utilisation of equipment resources to match the operational requirements of the terminal.
Ensure that recognised safe working practices are utilised for all terminal operations and maintain effective implementation of safety policies and procedures.
We are looking for
Requires a background of at least 10 years of experience in container terminal operations environment including a minimum of 5 years at a shift management level
Requires strong leadership skills coupled with the ability to build a high performing team with the right combination of personalities
Requires good stakeholder management (from management to labor) in a very dynamic environment
Requires high sense of cultural diversity awareness and ability to work / collaborate effectively
Requires strong coaching skills to effectively support new staff development
Requires green field terminal start up experience
Prior experience in an automated facility is a key differentiator
Requires good background in terminal planning (vessel, yard, gate) with XPS / N4
Requires advanced level of verbal and written communications skills in English. Fluency in French and / or Arabic is a differentiator
